White Restorations

Silver, gold, and amalgam fillings are restoration materials of the past. Today, patients can enjoy lifelike and durable restorations that seamlessly blend in with natural tooth structure. Our practice can also remove old, unsightly dental work and replace it with more visually appealing options. Using tooth-colored materials like composite resin and porcelain, dental work can have cosmetic and restorative benefits.

For small areas of tooth decay, composite resin is an ideal restorative material. This white mixture of glass and plastic makes for durable yet beautiful fillings. Composite resin can also be used in bonding treatments where our dentist conceals cracks, chips, and stains.

White crowns are another way to restore worn down and diseased teeth without sacrificing one’s appearance. Crowns are tooth-shaped restorations that fit over a damaged biological tooth. They are custom made for the individual and build a tooth back up to its rightful size and shape. When made from porcelain or porcelain fused to metal, dental crowns have aesthetic value, too. Those who have multiple diseased or visibly damaged teeth can enjoy a new looking, natural smile by receiving a series of crowns.

Porcelain Veneers

Favored by famous entertainers, porcelain veneers are one avenue for completely transforming your look. These cosmetic enhancements produce a uniformly bright and straight smile. Made from porcelain, a veneer is a razor-thin, tooth-shaped enhancement that is permanently bonded over the outside of teeth. When a series of veneers are placed over teeth, the results are dramatic and natural.

Porcelain veneers effectively conceal permanent intrinsic and extrinsic stains, cracks and chips, and misaligned teeth. Veneers can also add uniformity to a smile by covering misshapen and jagged teeth. If you are suffering from smile imperfections of a varied nature, porcelain veneers might be the perfect cosmetic solution for you.

Teeth Whitening

Nothing compares – including store bought whitening products – to the effectiveness of a professional whitening treatment. One, in-office treatment can brighten your teeth roughly eight to ten shades. Our practice utilizes the Zoom! whitening system. This treatment is a non-invasive procedure that involves the application of prescription strength whitening gel over teeth in increments. A safe laser will hover over the open mouth to intensify and speed up the whitening process. The treatment is complete in about 45 minutes and our guests enjoy instant results.

The Cosmetic Dentistry Consultation

If you want to improve the appearance of your teeth and smile, we recommend scheduling a consultation with Dr. Christian. At your appointment, we will take a few X-rays (if we don’t have any recent ones already) and perform a physical examination. This is important so that our dentist can determine the general state of your oral health. Next, we will discuss your concerns and answer your questions. We will then provide some recommendations and explain the types of procedures that will help you make the decision that is best for your needs.

COMMON QUESTIONS

A dental crown is a tooth-shaped cap that fits over a specific tooth. It is custom made in a dental laboratory so that it fits properly. Crowns have both restorative and cosmetic applications in dentistry. Patients who choose white materials such as all porcelain or porcelain fused to metal will enjoy very natural looking dental work.

A porcelain veneer is a cosmetic enhancement that covers the outside of a tooth. This wafer thin piece of porcelain is handcrafted from very precise specifications. Once veneers are bonded over teeth, they will produce a very beautiful looking smile that is free of imperfections such as misshapen, misaligned, and damaged teeth.

Zoom! whitening is a professional whitening treatment that uses prescription bleaching gel and powerful laser light to substantially brighten teeth. This treatment takes less than an hour and produces instantaneous and incredibly effective results.

If you have lost a tooth, you have a few options for tooth replacement including custom bridges, dental implants, and dentures. Bridges consist of using a series of crowns to fill in the gaps of a smile while dental implants replace all missing tooth structure with a titanium post embedded into the jaw and a prosthetic crown to fill in the empty tooth socket. Dentures come in two varieties: full and partial. Full dentures replace a full arch of missing teeth while partials replace missing teeth without affecting biological teeth.

Cosmetic dentistry can transform your smile and your quality of life. Treatments like white restorations and veneers conceal badly damaged or deformed tooth structure while teeth whitening treatments remove deep, permanent stains. The goal of providing any cosmetic treatment is to make teeth look healthy and beautiful.
