ABOUT DIGITAL X-RAYS
Digital x-rays, or radiographs, are done during an annual exam to provide a more thorough picture of your oral health. They allow Dr. Melisa Christian to diagnose problems that are not visible, as well as learn about the condition of your teeth, gums, and jawbone. There are many dental concerns that may be seen on digital x-rays, such as tooth decay, abscesses, cysts, bone atrophy, and impactions. If these conditions are identified in the early stages, you may have more treatment options that are less invasive. During your dental exam at Dallas Dental Concierge in Dallas, TX, digital x-rays will help Dr. Christian accurately diagnose and correct dental conditions.

HOW ARE THEY USED?
Generally done at the beginning of a dental cleaning or exam, digital imaging takes around 5 – 10 minutes to do. Most patients will have a series of x-rays to show all areas of the mouth. Once they are complete, they are uploaded to be viewed by you and Dr. Christian during your exam. She will be able to show you if there are any abnormalities and talk about what treatments may be needed.
